Launch Your Tech Venture in Europe's Fastest Growing Ecosystem

Lithuania is globally recognized as Europe’s premier fintech and technology launchpad—home to unicorns like Vinted and Nord Security, and boasting over 1,000 active venture-backed startups in Vilnius.

To attract high-growth talent, the Ministry of the Economy and Innovation created the Startup Visa Lithuania pathway. Unlike the traditional Business TRP, this program exempts innovative founders from the €28,000 minimum equity capital and 6-month operational readiness requirements.

Instead, candidates are evaluated on the innovative scalability, technological merit, and international market viability of their business model. At Swiss invest, UAB, we transform raw concepts into compelling governmental dossiers, coach founding teams through the committee review, and secure their official Letter of Endorsement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Startup Visa Insights

Essential queries regarding founder eligibility, committee timelines, and transition to permanent status.

Do I need to incorporate my company before applying for the Startup Visa?
No. You do not need to register a company before receiving committee approval. The Startup Visa application is submitted as an individual founder or team. Once you receive your official endorsement letter and arrive in Lithuania on your TRP, you have 120 days to formally incorporate your Lithuanian UAB enterprise.
How many co-founders can apply together under one startup project?
Under statutory guidelines, up to 4 co-founders can be endorsed under a single innovative startup application, provided each founder holds meaningful equity in the proposed venture and plays an active, documented operational role (such as CEO, CTO, Head of Product).
What is the validity period of the Startup Visa, and can it be extended?
The initial Temporary Residence Permit is granted for 1 full year. Upon demonstrating operational progress (formal company incorporation, progress toward product launch or customer traction), the permit can be extended for an additional 2 years. After 3 years, founders typically transition into standard shareholder Business TRPs or 5-year Permanent Residence.
Can my spouse and children relocate with me on the Startup Visa?
Yes. Spouses and minor children can apply simultaneously under Family Reunification. Spouses receive unrestricted work authorization in Lithuania, enabling them to seek employment or operate their own business.
What if my business model is traditional commerce rather than innovative tech?
Traditional businesses (wholesale trade, consulting agencies, retail, standard manufacturing) do not qualify for the Startup Visa program. For non-tech or established commercial operations, our firm recommends the Business TRP pathway under Article 45, which requires €28,000+ company equity.
